With my background in physics and actuarial science and with my current role as a Senior Healthcare Economics Analyst, I bring a unique blend of expertise to the table. My journey has honed not just my technical skills but also my ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, collaborate effectively, and approach problems with innovative thinking. Experience

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

Actuarial Analyst

• Developed financial valuations and models for business partners to facilitate negotiations of ancillary healthcare providers, upholding an entire network worth $2.25B in commercial products and $130M in Medicare Advantage.
• Compiled historical rates and revenue and brought business and technical insights to assist in negotiations with several large hospital systems.
• Completed ad hoc projects that business partners require for negotiations, such as ancillary network updates, network fee schedule comparisons to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, ambulance usage by hospital report, etc.
• Created a comprehensive summary of all calendar year in-network hospitals rates for annual submission to Center for Health Information and Analysis – improving the workflow and shortening completion time from estimated 3 days to <1 day, thoroughly documenting entire process for later submissions.
• Tracked monthly inflation progress for rate adjustment purposes for Mass General-Brigham and Sturdy and report the estimated overall gain/loss to senior leaders.
• Appraised the return-on-investment for new providers, such as Aware Recovery Care, an expensive at-home telehealth provider utilized by >1,300 members – devised a method for ROI and sharing conclusions company-wide, to clinicians, and to directors. Later managed an intern on the update of this project in the summer of 2023.

• Helped organize multiple projects and activities, such as Date with a Book, marketing libraries’ diverse collection of young adult novels and short stories for Valentine’s Day.
• Assisted and directed patrons to desired media and services provided within the library, having upwards of 200 patrons in a single two-hour shift.

Equity Research Intern

• Drafted an initiation report – thoroughly analyzed and reported on a company's services and finances for potential investors by reading their investor deck and their overall past performance.
• Formed an Excel model to accompany the initiation report to forecast the future performance of the company, giving concrete insight to potential and current investors.
• Wrote previews concerning 19 publicly traded companies within the healthcare technology sector before respective earnings reports, detailing expected financial results.

Residential Counselor

• Monitored the physical safety and mental wellness of 200+ high school students by physically leading them to planned activities and observing their mental wellbeing throughout.
• Organized events and activities for an assigned group of 12 students to get acquainted with the Greater Boston Area by creating a detailed schedule and planning certain destinations that would pique interest.

Research & Development Intern

• Overhauled instructions to construct ice dam-dissolving units - simplifying and accelerating the assembly time, providing efficiency for production, and streamlining the overall process.
• Designed and engineered an angle-adjustable roof to collect quantitative data and to test the practicability of the ice dam-dissolving units, giving insight into possible improvements made on the product.
• Assembled five ice dam-dissolving units with various mechanical and electrical components through use of soldering wires, wiring of the breadboard and electronics, and tuning components, such as potentiometers and water pressure pumps.

Student Mentor & Competition Judge

• Mentored elementary school-aged students on building and programming Lego robots to complete certain tasks given by the yearly game, breaking down complicated concepts into bite-size information digestible to inexperienced listeners.
• Sought sponsors to fund events and supplies for the students by writing persuasive letters and visiting companies’ booths at competitions.
